Hi All
I went up to the Murray on the weekend and spent a few hours crawling in the grass :screwy:.. trying to get some good shots of these beautiful little birds.
They were hiding in the long bamboo that was growing beside the river. I experimented with different focal lengths and f.ratios. These were the best female and male shots. Both at 300mm and F5.6.

Thanks Guys
I can't remember if I was using the tripod for this one or not. I had the camera mounted to it for a while, with the legs fully retracted. But I gave it away after a while as I was scaring the birds everytime I moved it.
Settings
ISO200, 1/250s, RAW, manual mode.
Cropped and unsharp mask (this resulted in the grainyness).

Hi Daniel
Those are remarkable photos indeed. When I have observed these beautiful birds through bino’s it is often very difficult to get a fix and focus on them as they move so quickly and are usually found in relatively thick undergrowth in the forest where we walk.
Rarely do they stay still long enough so you have done a terrific job. The female in particular stands out for me.
Cheers

Very nice shots, I aqree with Dennis, they're tricky buggers to catch, always on the move. I managed to catch a couple outside my window in this post (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=202630&postcount=250).
wrens are always hard to shoot :)
try for a higher iso next time so you get a higher shutter :)
nice and crisp shots tho!
