Hi guys,
I am editing this thread to include two new images of galaxies belonging to Sculptor Group. They are NGC-55 and NGC-7793

Detail for NGC-300:

The image: 60 frames of 5 minutes each using ASA 800
Camera: Canon Rebel XT 350 modified (Hutech) with LPR filter attached to the camera.
Scope: LX-200 10" Classic on a Meade Super-Wedge
Focus: Off-Axis from Taurus Technologies with a 6.3 focal reducer installed.
Guiding:None
Software: ImagePlus for image capture, image calibration (darks, flats and bias), alignment and stacking. MaxDL for DDP and initial post-processing. Photoshop CS.2 for post-processing.Detail for NGC-7793 and NGC-55:

thanks for posting !

looks like some nice detail ... 60 exposures all ungiuded, i assume non autoguide as the stars are nice... big job you would be tired after that effort!

i would be interested how you processed this as i am trying to upgrade my processing skills, and am always open to peoples ways they tackle each image.

cheers AL

Very nice image Fernando, I haven't captured this galaxy yet but it is definitely on my list now.

Love those spiral arms

Top stuff

Very nice images, Fernando. They look a tad on the blue side on this laptop?

Hi,

Thanks for the compliment guys.

Mike: I use G2V stars as a reference to set the white balance of my images but it is possible that some problem has happened in the process. Would you say that all the images posted have this trend to blue or just some?

Thank you for the feedback.

Hi Fernando.
The stars themselves appear fairly white but the galaxies themselves appear to have a blue cast. The middle one especially.

Mike,
Thank you for your remark. I used a different G2V star than the one I used to white balance the NGC7793 originally posted. The result actually was very different and it shouln't be. I will have to double check my standards.
I'm posting this new version of the NGC7793 reprocessed, resampled and cropped.

Thanks again,

Fernando

That looks nicer, Fernando. Nice job. How much is that cropped?

Mike,
The new image was cropped in about 66%.

Thanks for your considerations,

Fernando
