Hey all, am sure a few of you have seen this, but is amazing, with most of Comet Encke's tail coming off as nears Sun.

It's amazing how you can actually see the solar eruption streaming toward the comet!

amazing footage, but does any one know the amount of time the video actually spans? the video is fast forwarded, so how long did the original event actually take?

According to NASA, the time between each frame is about 45 minutes. I haven't counted the number of frames but by the looks of it the whole animation spans over a day or so.

I went into WMP to work out how many frames were in the clip, and I noticed a little clock on the bottom left corner of the video :doh:! any hoo, the video spans about 32 hours, so just over day, as you said.
