Hi all,
Straight to the point...
Will a Pentax M42 mount lens be able to reach focus at infinity with one of these M42 - EOS mount adapters?

Yes indeed, though take care to ensure the lens you are looking at has manual appature control that works - some can get stuck in auto which means the lens is wide open all the time. Also the adapter (if one of the bare metal kind) will need insulation applied to it to prevent the camera/lens contacts being shorted and making the camera give an error message. There are some adapters out there that will respect the right contacts to allow the metering in the camera to work - might be of interest for non-astro uses....finally if you are buying from ebay watch out for the $2.99 adapters with $40 p&p...
Have fun - there are some nice Pentax (look for SMCs) and Zeiss lenses out there for not t0o much in the $$...
