M33 at R.A. = 01h33m58s.64, Decl. = +30°57'34".6

just went and had a look at supernovae.net lots of info there

how long generally are these events visible for, being in melbourne Australia we might not have good weather for a while ( gale force winds today), can you wait a couple of weeks or do they fade rapidly.

how is france for light pollution, i get the feeling that we have good dark skies compared to europe.
