Geeday all,

Here's an image I did at the beginning of September. It is the galaxy NGC 6744 in Pavo. This is a 55-minute exposure (11 x 5min) @ ISO400. It's spiral arms are very faint and is going to need much more exposure time. You can also see the neighbouring galaxy NGC6744A at lower left as a faint smudge.

Higher resolution image at http://www.skylab.com.au/pmsa/ngc6744b.html

Hi all, thanks for your comments.

Houghy: yes exactly, double-triple the amount of photons are required.

Could this one lend itself to some HDR technique. Prevent the burnt out centre?

Either way it looks awesome, especially with his orienation almost straight on.
