It's a pretty poor offering I know, but I really put the hard yards in on this one so here it is.
During capture I accidently used a DVD- instead of a + and ended up in all sorts of trouble. Neither computer would read the disk so I ended up hooking the DVD recorder up to the desktop via the Belkin Video Capture thingy. The worst of it was that after stacking the finished image was all pinched. I stretched the image horizontally in Paint in an attempt to make it look normal.
Let's hope the next one turns out better.

Hi Jeanette
Sounds like a true labour of love, although you managed a great recovery – well done.
As for me, I like to think that you simply took a unique side-on photo and I would ignore the subtle technical challenges of DVD+, DVD- and all the other potential gremlins when attempting such shots. Where are the standards when you need them eh?

JJJ, why can't you capture direct to the laptop with the Belkin Video Capture thingy...:confuse3:

Phil, it will only capture at the very lowest resolution on the lappy.
There is a problem with the USB 2 ports that I haven't been able to resolve.
It works fine on the desktop though.
But it is much easier to use the DVD recorder anyway. The remote control is very convenient.
Nice capture JJJ.
I wish I could capture this myself but the house is in the way.

Top work JJJ!!
great start and only sense up x32. have you tried getting a pcmcia usb2 card for your laptop.plugs in through a little trapdoor in the side of the laptop.costs $20 including postage on ebay . I use one with my capture device and it works great.
