Wanted: low profile 2" to 1.25' adapter

I just bought a William Optics 2" 45-degree erecting diagonal. Unfortunately, with my ZS80 there isn't enough in focus for most of my eyepieces. I think the tubes of the newer scopes are shorter (relative to focal length) than the old models, and since this diagonal is a new item, it doesn't quite work straight out of the box with my scope.

What I need is a 2" to 1.25" adapter that doesn't raise the eyepiece above the height of the diagonal's 2" barrel. In fact, I've seen some websites in the US where the adapter actually lowers the height of the eyepiece a few mm, which is probably what I need.

Anyone know where I might find such a thing in Australia?

I had similar issue - got friend with a lathe to machine down the lip on the standard adaptor so it fits further into the focuser. You can gain up to 10 mm further inward focus this way if you replace the thumb screw with a grub screw.

I assume the biggest issue with this method is that you need to use an Allen key to tighten/loosen the grub screw? Not such a big deal for astronomy (apart from the chance of dropping it in the dark) but for terrestrial use this could be a pain if I wanted to change eyepieces quickly (e.g. watching wildlife).

I think the GSO design with the cut-out on the main barrell is the best solution, but I'm not about to let anyone cut out part of my new WO diagonal. The only other solution I can imagine is to use the GSO adapter with my WO diagonal but somehow having the hole in the adapter lined with something to make it a snug fit without needing a screw/compression ring.
