Finally got the scope out tonight! It's been ages for me...
Beautiful, clear still night here apart from a small amount of high cloud that threatened to close out the sky by disappeared at the last minute. Seeing was average to poor - it deteriorated as the night went on.
Anyway here's a few quick processed images.
Copernicus and Vallis Alpes both captured on the TouCam, C8, 3x Orion Barlow, K3ccdtools. Map processed in registax 4 and border and aved for the web in PS CS3.
The large image of Eratosthenes, was captured using positive eyepiece projection just as an experiment. I used my 4mm plossl EP (hooray I found a use for it!!!). No idea what magnification this gives me, but it's more than I can achieve with negative projection. It's a bit soft, partially because of the seeing, and possibly because focus might need to be better or the magnification was simply exceeding the limits of the C8:shrug:. I need to do a bit more homework on that;). But now that I know what to do, I'm keen to give +ve EP projection another go when the seeing is better.
