I was thinking (and hoping) that the November 2007 Lunar X on the Moon (Werner X) illumination for North America might be more brillant and visible then most. This was based on the fact that I was able to see the reflection with an unaided eye during my first observation back in 1978. (No, I couldn't make out the "X" shape, but I could see a speck of light just off into the dark side of the teminator that night, which I then observed the "X" shape with a 60mm refractor). This November illumination will be very very close in libration (lat and long) to the 1978 event; and I thought this may be the key factor in repeating the specatular 1978 optical event. However, I have been reminded that libration does not affect the illumination of lunar features as I am thinking it might. If this is true, what would? Thanks!
