I hurriedly took these tonight - the wide field was rested on the roof racks of the car, the others on a tripod with a canon 400D and a 200mm lens. Damn this is hard with the moon so bright. there are some horrors in that lot I can tell you. they are all different in settings - none the same:D
Was a nice night for conjunctions - Moon and Antares, Spica and Mercury (nearly!)..... nice photos houghy....

Thanks - between the Skyglow, moon glow and the Glowing rage of my wife (for me going out side when I should have done the dishes), the moisture and dust particles are being lit up like nothing else. This has been one of the hardest shots to get.

It surely was a great site through a low power, wide angle eyepiece.
Nice shots but, were they worth risking the wrath of SWMBO :)

Nice shot of all three, Houghy!!!
Geez it was a nice sight to see.
From down here they almost touched. Wouldn't think there'd be that much angle difference from only 900k difference on Earth.

Thanks Dave, ken said it got pretty close to Antares, was it closer down there? I missed the part where they all lined up (kids feed and bath witching hour)
did you leave your UV filter on for these david?

Very nice shots Houghy. It's awesome you were able to capture the Earthshine and some detail on the terminator.
Naked eye view of this from Brisbane was very pretty last night.
yeah the filter does whacky things to moon pics for some reason. i found this out when shooting the eclipse... i reviewed teh first trial pic before it started and noticed i got what you have. removed the filter and wha-la! :D

its very hard to get a balance and get some depth and stars in the shot. RB would have done a better job;)
