Double Object Wide Field

Hi Guys, yep, I'm back, and you can blame these two images on Eric.:whistle:
The first is NGC 6357 and NGC 6334

After viewing his two images yesterday, which were stunning I might add, he mentioned the closeness of these two objects, so I figured I might just try and land them in the same frame. ;)

And so it was, I first tried to image the crab, but found that the Tak wanted them both in the frame, so i move the scope to make this happen.

All guided by the humble Toucam, who would think that a 140 dollar web cam can tell a G11 set up what to do.... :shrug:

Anyway enough gabble.

Both images were a set of 8 exposures @ 5 min's each, at 500 ISO, working at f/5 through the Tak 106, and Canon 5D, with 72mm Hutech LPR filter in front of the Tak rear lens, on G11 mount
Flats, and in camera darks, processed in Image Plus, and guided with Toucam, both images are not cropped,

Fantastic images leon,
The autoguiding has resulted in a huge difference in the detail you record, and i love the wide fields too.

I've got the Cats Paw on my must image list but I haven't had a chance as yet.

Looks great, but oversaturated to me, making data become....red and flooding it out with red..

Ingo, yep I reckon you may be right on the saturation point, but I didn't process that into the image, it was really that red when i Digitally Developed it in Image Plus, they seem to be very red objects.

Yep Ken they are close actually It is difficult to image one or the other on its own through the Tak, they both like to be in the picture. ;)

If I center any one of them in the center of the frame, either one or the other is poking it's nose in from the edge. :lol:

Thanks Eric, but now it has been pointed out to me that it is felt that the images are far to Red in colour, I tend to agree, but i have done nothing in the processing part to make them this red.

They are as they were taken, with no saturation added, actually i de-saturated them a bit.

Use a Barlow on them. That'll scare one or the other out of the picture! :lol:

Great work Leon, looks like I will have to investigate this auto guiding thingy and see if I can improve my images somewhat. I think I better look into flat frames also.

Doug and Jase thank you for you encouragement, I'm having a good time with this guiding caper, and have worked out it is not as hard as I first thought. ;)

By the way Jase, I love your image, a lot of detail in that shot.I just wish mine was not that red, but can't seem to do much about it.
