I haven't even used my DSI yet, but I have already fitted a cooling fan to aid in heat dissapation.

It was so simple I had to share the idea with all of you

Normally we try to make brackets to affix the fan to our imaging devices, or as I have seen done - plastic cable ties wrapped around the whole unit.

I came up with a quick and easy way to mount the fan, and it is removable in one second.

Look at the 2 pics below. Notice no visible mounting method.

:eyepop: It must be Magic!!!!!

Here's the trick ;)

Sticky-backed Velcro Tape

If you look at the pic below you can just see it between the fan and the DSI body.

So the Velcro doesn't block any air flow, I cut triangles for each corner. :)
It works well, and I had the fan running for 15 minutes to test if it falls off. Nope, it didn't.

And if you want to remove the fan, just pull it off, and stick it back onto the Velcro when you need it.

Good idea Ken, looks effective, but i always wonder if this set up with fans attached causes vibrations

I'll let you know if there is any vibration present in the images when I get the DSI going

That's a great idea, Ken.

Are you going to do some comparison tests?

Hmm..I suppose what I'm really asking : Does the fan help with image quality?

Very clever Ken,
Hope it works well.
Don't you love it when a plan comes together!?

Once I get the DSI working I'll do a Vibration test as well as the Hot Pixel and noise comparison test
