Small change in photography/imaging forums

Hi all

You may have noticed a small change in forum categories, made this morning.

The category for the imaging forums has been renamed to Image Showcase (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=11), and the Cameras and Photography forum has been renamed to Terrestrial Photography (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=14).

This category is now specifically designed for posting images - whether it be of Solar System objects, Deep Space objects or Terrestrial (Earthly) objects.

The discussion of cameras, imaging and photographing equipment/techniques is now destined for a new sub-forum, Cameras, Photography and Imaging Equipment (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=35) which you'll find under the Equipment category.

I've gone through the first few pages of the old Cameras & Photography forum and moved the non-image posting threads to their new location. That's why you'll see them as all being 'un-read'.

The reason for the change is fairly obvious - to separate the posting of images from the discussion of equipment, cameras, lenses, techniques etc.
Having the images all posted together under the one category has other advantages too, which will become clearer in the future.

Image Showcase has gone back to Images?

On reflection 'showcase' wasn't appropriate. We didn't want people to feel that the images forums inferred that only the best images should be posted and therefore possibly discourage people. Imaging being subjective, who's to say what a 'showcase' of images is. As always, those forums are merely a place to post your images for discussion, advice, opinion, posterity...
