Guys and Gals,

I really like to get my equipment working to its fully extent. I'm only missing one key thing from a critical bit of software (the Sky6 Professional Edition) - pulse guides available under ASCOM to be revealed by Dan Bisque's software to the generic ASCOM driver - TeleAPI.dll.

My trouble is Dan promised me it is before I bought the software - turns out it isn't! When I queried him on it he pointed me to find the guys writing the ASCOM adapter and ask them why it didn't work. Well I did - Ray Gralack of PEMPro and Bob Denny - the father of ASCOM both got back to me. Dan Bisque didn't reveal the critical pulse guide functionality to their ASCOM link so they can't pass it to any other driver.

I've queried this to Dan online - he says just use his supplied driver. I've shot back he promised it would work and my chain was spelt out to be ASCOM -> POTH -> MaxPoint -> SkySensor2000-PC. He's advising me just using the LX200 emulation mode and drop ASCOM. I'm really annoyed that he's lied to me twice and misled me - apparently diliberately.

If any of you are thinking of wanting to use ASCOM under The Sky6 - could you lend weight to my plea for Dan to simply reveal ASCOM pulse guide scope nudging to the ASCOM hub dll. The more voices that call for this - the greater chance he might relent and spend an hour enabling this in software.

If you can help please register at Software Bisque's support website (takes 1 minute) and login and say hey Dan - sounds like a good idea to me - preferably in my thread

Many thanks all who can help!

Matthew - I had the same problems with The Sky 6 pro edition - the ASCOM connection was not good. I have since uninstalled the program, and cannot even remember where the installation cd is.
Cheers

Interesting, that has just put me off getting this software!
Thanks for the heads up.

Well I'm also on the ASCOM Yahoo group and ping its members - I've asked if this (pulse guding) could be developed as a standalone capability off the Plain Old Telescope Hub - just in case Dan doesn't prove helpful.
