Hi all, here a couple of Ha images from last weekend of the Bug and Swan Nebulas.

Both were taken with the DSI II Pro and f/3.3 FR using a 13nm Ha filter.

Images were taken in Envisage and both were 150 subs @ 8 seconds each followed by some tweeking in Maxim.

Cheers :)

Ric they are pretty good for such short exposures, well done, the Bug was the one i was supposed to take the other night, but my post of the images shows i was way out.

Nice images - it encourages me to get out again with my DSI (as soon as the rain stops). Some really good detail in the Swan.

Thank everyone for your comments.

I was keeping the exposures short for the Bug nebula as I seemed to be burning out the core with anything higher, it must have a bright centre compared with the rest of it. Then I was halfway through the Swan when I realised I was still on 8 seconds so I just continued on imaging. Whoops.

goes to show how sensitive the dsi is i guess, very nice for 8s through a Ha filter

Yes Ric great work there .. I hope to have a couple of dsi soon... going to fit them to my binos for a laugh but really for auto guiding but seeing the work such as people like yourself are producing I think I may get more than I expected from them as guide cameras.

Thanks Tj and Alex, I have always thought of them as a great camera for the entry level to intermediate CCD imager. They do take a little getting used to but once that's sorted they are more than capable of very rewarding results.

They are both very nice Ric! showing lots of fine detail in the Ha.
Are you going to add this to a color version...they should make great images!

Thank Beren and Gary for your comments.

Gary I've been thinking about trying my hand at adding colour, probably this coming weekend if it's clear.

They are both good images Ric,The Swan showing a lot of detail for such short exposures. We have a DSI Pro on order for use as a guide camera, but it would be interesting to try it as a imaging camera in certain areas.
