Details:-

All photos – Pentax KX, tripod mounted, using 400ASA colour print film :camera:

Foreground (yes, different day and different place :ashamed: ) – Pentax 28mm lens, f8, 1sec

Eclipse – Tokina zoom lens at 300mm, f8, exposures typically 1/1000sec – 1/250sec except totality 5sec (I did try my small tracking mount but the tripod mounted shots were better :screwy: )

Images processed and arranged using Photoshop (With help from okiscopey – many thanks Mike  )

Had a huge fight with the joys of being a film user – grain, processing quality, dust and hairs when scanning etc. Groan! I need a DSLR! :face:

Hi Eric

An excellent result and top marks for your efforts in pulling it off. I note you have the KX – I still have my KM from July 1976!

Cheers

Dennis

That beats me by a couple of years! Had any film in it lately? ;) I suspect not. :)

Erick, you have done a wonderful job using film. Some of us digital SLR users started off with film so we know how hard it is.

Well done mate, I like your pic.

It's nice when blokes like Mike (Okiscopey), offer their time for people to help them. I take my hat off to you Mike.

Thanks everyone, for your encouragement. I had great fun planning, observing, photographing, then somewhat less fun putting the final result together. I learnt a lot through the exercise. But particular thanks to Mike (okiscopey) for giving generously of your time and taking my knowledge of Photoshop from absolutely nothing to a hint of a glimmer! :thanks:

Here is the viewing location I found, photo taken half way through setup. My visiting sister from Queensland accompanied me and was thrilled. On the southern horizon you can see the clouds that sat over Melbourne for a further few hours.

Eric :)
