View Full Version here: : Collinder 399 - Coathanger Cluster
It's a pretty tiny picture, but I like it. I've heard it's the only thing in the sky that actually looks like what it's called

Thats a new object for me too! ;)
Nice shot! ;)
Nice image Ingo, you've captured some nice colour and it is a very unusual shape.
Cheers
Jeeze everybody posts the same images of the same things. I get a new object, nobody comments

Goodness Ingo, three comments is a bit more than nobody. And they seem to like it and were grateful for your posting. Well, I can let you know that your image tipped the balance for me and I went looking for this cluster for the first time last night. Found, observed, greatly enjoyed, cannot wait to show others for their first time. So many thanks for posting your image.
ps. I reckon Scorpius is the best example of a constellation fitting its name. :)
Well scorpius doesn't look like...a scorpion. The coathanger...looks like....a coathanger
rotate your coathanger right 90 degrees or it'll fall off the rack! :D
nice one. i like that area of the sky :)
