Hi Guys,

After fixing up my prev. image with stuffed up darks, combined a better set without all the pixels. Here it is 13 x 5 mins at ISO 800.

Same version but less compression here:

many thanks all. really appreciated.

in regards to writing a PS tutorial, I don't know where to start  . don't really have step by step instructions. I normally do it visually. i see what i can come up with .

i think with my new LCD, i can see better what exactly im processing. It's a Samsung 913B. Now looking at some of my old pics, i might have to reprocess alot of them

Hi Ezystyles,
I'm a noobie on here, but I just bought my first scope on the forsale section off OneonOne! :) hopefully it arrives on Friday. Its a Celestron 8NGT Reflector

Looking through your past posts, i realize that you were once a 'noob' and flicking through your photos from your beginnings here on the forum, i can really say that you've inspired me a lot and have given me faith that I can too, be able to capture these great and marvellous images one day.

Any tips for a newbie? hehe

Hi thongus, welcome to IIS. that Celestron NGT8 is the baby version of my NGT10. great scopes! would you know the focal ratio?

thanks for your comments. we all were once a 'noob' . Just takes time to gradually improve and learn from mistakes. First step i would recommend is to research on what type of photography you want to do, whether it will be planets or deep space stuff. research on all the used terminology and understand what it means. I started off with a Meade DSI-C and joining group discussions on yahoo as well as asking for advises here . The DSI-C is a great beginners camera and you'll have plenty of fun with it esp deep sky stuff and a lot of "wow" factor.

Bintel currently have a sale on these cameras for $150 (i have no affiliation with Bintel) . or you can go the filter pro version which takes abit of mucking around .

You will also need a firm steady mount with tracking for deep sky stuff. there are alot of posts about what mounts ppl should be using. search around and you'll find alot of info about them :)

Feel free to ask away.

What a fantastic image!!! Well done Eric.

I've noticed that you own two Canon DSLR cameras and you've been using 300D modded one to take this shot. I guess you used unmodded 350D for astrophotography as well. If I am right, do you see a big difference in results between these two cameras?

I'm still not sure whether I need to modify my 400D or not and how it can make my astro pictures better.

cheers,

Michael

Thanks scott. UHCS filter is the best bang for the money :)

Hi Michael, a huge difference between unmodded and modded version. On my website www.ezystyles.com.au (http://www.ezystyles.com.au) under images, there are two difference folders, modded 300d and 350d. You'll be the judge :)
