Hi all
Here's an image I snuck in before Moonrise lastnight. It's the bright star cluster Messier 7 http://www.skylab.com.au/pmsa/ngc6475.html
The image is 20-minute exposure (4 x 5 min. sub-frames) @ ISO200
with the modified Canon 300D on my observatory mounted
12" f/5 newtonian telescope and autoguided on a G-11 mount with
SBIG 402 CCD camera and 4.5" f/9 newtonian guidescope.
cheers

Hey Paul, that's is beautiful!!!!!
The M7 stars look like they are just hanging there. Totally different to the background stars aren't they.
Very nice work

Thats right ken, I am sure Paul just hung them there to get the shot then took them down again. Not bad is it?

Great shot there, the 200 ISO sure brings out the star colours against the yellowish milkyway background.

If I were American I'd be singing:
"O say, can you see, by the dawns early light..."
A real Star Spangled Banner that Pauly

Hey all,
Thanks for your comments on my Messier 7 image. I was pretty delighted with it - especially for only a 20-minute exposure.
Thanks for your comment on colour, Dr Nick, since I have been doing a lot of experimenting in determining good colour balance - and still not sure how to get "proper" colour balance.
Clear Skies....
Great image Paul, the contrast between the cluster and the background stars is quite stunning.
A lovely image
