well we had high cloud to start with then it finally cleared. havent processed a thing yet and there are probably better shots in the mix - I took 4 gig or RAW files with the K10D and 2 gig Raw with the 400D, so I have a lot to look at. was a wonderful sight to see:thumbsup:

The whole experience is in the top 5 All Time Best Astronomical Events for me.
I love the beautiful subtle tones you've captured in there Dave.
And great to see the setup too.
Great work mate.
:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Nice images Houghy, you had some decent looking setups on the go as well.

Very nice results Dave. I'm glad it all worked out for you - the field of high tech gizmos, masquerading as your back garden, looks very impressive! Looks like a secret govt. or military installation!

Thanks Alan. I was determined to get better results than I did last time, there was a marked improvement of digital over film. I take my hat off to those who can make the string of images and wide field shots, they look fantastic, but I only have 3 cameras and borrowed one to get a photo of the setup:rofl:. Next time I think we need to hit it with everything:whistle:

here are a sequence of shots straight from the camera in raw format placed into the contact sheet format in photoshop. I will have to process every one of these - LOL all ISo400 - varied from 1/750 through to 30 seconds for totality and back out to 1/750 throught the Meade LX200R at f6.3. now I need to somehow come up with a way to present it?

You do actually have him well trained. The guilt he shows is enormous!! He is truely torn about the Astrofest next year. :D

Not forgetting the other 120+ people (also called attendees) who occasionally behave worse than the children at Astrofest events…
