Hi everybody,

I've been lurking online for the past month or so, devouring all the information you guys have available - thanks for the fantastic resource!!

Name's Keith, a maths teacher in Kalgoorlie WA. Got my hands on a 60mm Tasco a couple of months ago and got hooked! Our local star guru has a 16" Dob, and I subsequently developed a severe case of aperture envy! To cut a long story short, convinced the missus that I needed a 10", and my GSO arrived on Monday afternoon.

The eclipse was fantastic, and the new Dob didn't disappoint. The 32mm wide view made for memorable viewing - had to fight my three young kids off!

Anyway, looking forward to chatting to you all!

Cheers, Keith

Welcome, and good to hear you got to see the eclipse! :) We weren't so lucky in Perth, unfortunately, but you get that now and then :)

:welcome: Keith, thanks for the introduction of yourself.

I started with the 10" dob as well, it's a great scope. I've now got a 12", but used the old 32mm eyepiece last night as well, for amazing full moon views during the eclipse.

Welcome Keith, hope you have a great time here at IIS.

I used to work in the gold mines there and at Laverton as well as a Geologist back in the early 80's. A great place Kalgoorlie, the skies were so dark then, it might be a bit different now though.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome, guys. Yes Ric, the skies are good and dark. Pollution tends to be localised, so not too difficult to escape!

Welcome to IIS Keith.

10" dob just in time for the eclipse is great timing :)
