I thought I would show off my pics from the eclipse last night. Had a great time snapping away. I had the binoculars setup on the tripod and the scope out as well. The kids had a great time until it was time for bed, then I enjoyed the rest of the night unti lthe end of the eclipse.

As suggested in the section about the eclipse right here on IIS, here is a nice transition from full eclipse to the end of the partial eclipse. Pics were taken from my Meade MTS-SN8 F/4 with a Fuji F20 Digital Cam.

I was pleased with how they came out, considering this was my first time trying astrophotography, I may have the bug now , it was hard to get the bright and dark parts of the moon somewhat even during the partial eclipse without under or over exposing.

Anyway, hope others out there had as much fun as I did here :):):)

Fantastic effort Todd! It was a magic night, wasn't it? The luminous pinky-reddy moon at totality, surrounded by stars and with the Milky Way shining bright, was really special.:)

Cheers -

Very good todd. It was fun when the exposures were sorted out. Hard to get the right balance. Maybe we'll do even better next time with this experience under our belt. I used a Panasonic Lumix FZ5 with 48x zoom. Not as good but hey, they are ours and we did it. Good on ya.
