Eclipse from Tasmania

I had a lot of cloud cover, but the moon became visible every now and again. I was really surprised to see that as the Earth totally covered the moon, it actually went a shade of red.

Of course, if you look at the gif animation of the slides you will see that there is a discernible elipse cast by the shadow of the Earth. From this we may gather that the Earth has a round shape. It does not prove that the Earth is a sphere but it does prove that it may be the shape of a pie? Or does it?

Alternatively, it may not prove that at all. It may simply prove that the Moon is a sphere. The elipse is created when the line of shadow cast by the Earth bends around the Moon.

I might just add that I only got the incoming shadow, I didn't get the outgoing shadow. It started to rain.

Of all the luck. I also got a picture of a rainbow about an hour before the eclispse commenced.

Imagine that! A rainbow followed by an moon eclipse.:)

I can't get over the information I'm getting from the animation. Notice the shadowing which takes place in the image. I think that may be evidence of a twilight effect on the moon.

I don't think it is cloud. If it were cloud then the image would be less focused, less resolved in the place where the cloud appears. Instead, the image contains more detail in the places where the shadow appears to transit the planetoid. I think I may have found a way to prove the existence of dark matter.;):)

Yes, there is definitely a relationship between twilight and dark matter. Twilight after all, is a mixture of dark matter and light. Twilight is an attempt by light to dominate darkness.
