It's only 31 years since I rode this type of sport:), so I thought it would be interesting to go and see what's changed:P. Most of these are photos of the A grade experts. One of the things that has changed since I rode is that each grade has a different difficulty section to ride, so it's only the really good riders that are doing the really difficult and dangerous stuff:thumbsup:. It was very daunting for the less skilled riders in the old days when everyone rode the same sections! ...but even then they weren't this difficult!

No one was hurt in any of the "offs" that I captured - despite appearances!

Anyway, I thought it might be something a little different to have a look at.;)

Nice images Al, brings back memories. I used to ride trials as well, about the same time as you. There's a lot changed since then, particularly kids who have migrated BMX skills to trials.

Yeah, I'll say! There's a lot that is comfortingly familiar, but what they can do with bikes these days is amazing! I am in awe of what these guys can do! It's not just the physical ability and skills, but the mental toughness that impresses me.

For anyone who's interested in poking along for a look or to capture photos, the Australian titles are being held at Wiseman's Ferry on November 11. I won't be there, unfortunately, as I'll be in Canada.

HI Al
Your photos of the mototrial at Darby's Falls (Cowra) on the weekend are incredible. You must have honed your skills on subjects much further away!! My photos deserve to go in the recycling bin in comparison!
Just to clarify that the Trial at Pacific Park South Maroota (near Wiseman's Ferry) November 11th is a NSW Open Trial like the one at Cowra. It is a wonderful location to view trials riding, camping is available with all facilities ....and the night sky would be excellent to view from there. The Australian Championship is held in the Barossa Valley SA the weekend of the 13th and 14th October 2007. If anyone is interested in anything mototrials then view www.trials.com.au (http://www.trials.com.au) for more info.
Great site

Thanks Maree. I must've misread the sign at the trial!

It amazes me how far these daredevils push the envelope with risk taking! Like those Crusty Demons. Nice pics Al

Yeah, but motorcycling is about the journey not the destination:P:).

Thanks Adam.

Great images but I prefer the tarmac as I used to road race.

I remember my brother doing motor cross years ago and in his first meet he got the most consistent rider trophy. Out of 8 races he entered he came last in 7 and on the last lap of the last race three riders in front of him went over and he passed them to come 4th last.

My brother did get a lot better at motocross and won may trophies.
