Just north of Gympie they had over 600 in 24 hours, Noosa has had over 400 from 9am yesterday to 9am today. There have been quite a number of places over 400mm in the past 36 hours.
Rainbow Beach (yep where that other boat is :) ) has hd 712 mm in the 24 hours of this map
http://www.bom.gov.au/hydro/flood/qld/seast.shtml
Rainbow is the red dot to the north and west of Double Is Point north of Noosa

It has rained over the dams h0ughy, but nothing like it has been on the coast. Probably lucky to have had more than 20mm in the past 24, though they have probably had about 75 to 100 in the past 3-4 days. The northern catchment of Summerset Dam, which just happens to be in behind the Maleny area has had about 150mm in the past 24, so there should be some sort of top up in the next couple of days when the stream flow gets there

Probably, but I'm juggling a few funds at the moment. Had a few "unexpecteds" after I got back from Duckadang. You know rates, insurance, car maintenance...<Blah>
More accurate, water's at a premium here. :P

wow I couldnt imagine 715mm of rain in 24hours. 220 in a day is my limit!!!. 1 positive is that it gets to clean the crud and smoke from the atmosphere there.

600mm; that's serious rain. Must have been caused by the intense vacuum left when h0ughy departed Duckadang...:P

At a great rate of knots.
Ingo there is a very good reason to use metric. We used to use imperial inches but metric makes more sense. If you take 1 litre of water in pour it into a dish that is 1 meter square the water will be 1mm deep. So when someone says we have had 25mm of rainfall then it is much easier to envisage how much water has actually fallen. Even though I grew up with the inches measurement I'm still not sure exactly what it means.

Rainbow Beach looks like it might crack 1000mm for this week - not bad for the dry season! However, this has been very localised rain so Brisbanes Dams have missed out on the big falls although the Stanley River feeding Somerset Dam has a healthy feed at the moment. Even so Brisbane's Water supply remains in a very very bad way :(

If I could I'd gladly send it south west Terry. We are pretty over it up here. Buy the look of it that low is heading back down the coast and moving inland. Fingers crossed it moves more towards the dams.

And if I remember correctly from my rigging days, 1 litre of water weighs
1kg.

I just heard 750mm in 24hrs on the news for somewhere up on the sunshine
coast. That's scary!!!

A couple of pics after the flood had retreated a bit.
The trees in the river were once over 30 ft tall(10metres):eyepop:
We had 206mm at Cambroon over two days.
