Crater Lexell

Seeing was pretty average tonight so instead of imaging Jupiter I thought I would try my hand at the Moon for a change.

Some interesting small craters mixed with some small rilles that can be seen in the image.

Taken with the C14 at ambient, 215 frames.

Na , Its a beauty Its soft in places sure, but it almost looks like you limited the DOF to create a perception of depth :lol:, a lovely image Paul....

Well it is at 1955x, I guess it is a little soft. The seeing was average though and I just wonder whether you are viewing this through a CRT or an LCD?

I can get it sharper but it introduces too many artifacts.

Besides that I was very happy with this image.

That's a new one on me - haven't seen a closeup of that crater before.

I did not know this crater yet; it looks very intersting giving lots of good contrast with those many smaller craters scattered over the main crater.
