Hi all,
I captured this image from my backyard in Cranebrook (near Penrith) a Sydney outer suburb in May this year. No filters. No guiding.

Celestron GPS11 in Altazimuth mode with f3.3 focal reducer. Meade DSIc.
40x15 seconds (10 minute total) exposures auto combined on the fly.
Meade Drizzle software for derotating the image.

Processed in Photoshop, applied moderate levels and curves to bring out the detail.

NGC4321 is a magnitude 10.10 galaxy.
Surprisingly in suburbia it is possible to image very low magnitude objects.
In this image on the left you can clearly see ................
Galaxy (PGC41214) magnitude 16.3
Galaxy NGC4322 Magnitude 14.8

Regards
Gerry

Thanks guys,
I guess with the right gear and a lot of patience its even possible to go supernova hunting even in Sydney.

Gerry,
Well done for in the suburbs!!!!
I know how hard it is to get the faint fuzzies in my dark location. You have done very well.

Hi Gerry, a great image, I love the detail in the spiral arms.

Well done in capturing the fainter galaxies, I expect the skyglow from Sydney must be quite bright.

Cheers

Wow! Top stuff Gerry. Very impressive for the area you are and no wedge.

I allways think capturing little goodies in the backgroud enhances an image... Well done! ;)
