Any of you guys going to watch "Beyond Tomorrow", tonight on Ch 7?
It looks like a pretty cool show, featuring some new technology.. probably a lot of it is gimmicky and prototypes, but that's how it all starts..
I vaguely remember "Beyond 2000", and now look, we're in 2005 already!

Definitely watching it and taping it Mike! I sort of remember "beyond 2000" as well. In fact, my dad still has VHS tapes of it...it was a great show though and I hope this new one will be just as good.
Does anyone remember if any of the technology showcased on the original show has become a reality? I can't remember!

I saw the whole thing, and quite liked it.:D That 3D printer was one of the strangest and most awesome things I have ever seen!!
Next week they're having a report on the space shuttle Discovery and RTF! Everyone watch:)

I watched the first 45 minutes.. some great stories, seems to be a bit of a compilation of stuff (like, using mythbusters).
The mind-controlled robotic arm and the 3D printer were FANTASTIC! How cool is that printer!

I reckon! My wife rightly pondered whether they could use some of that leftover powder again in the next run..

:) there was alot for that small statue.....just amazing the intricate detail that can be achieved and what it could do for any number of industries .
those new Airbuses are a wonder , just wonder how wise it is to push the number of passengers on board one plane :confuse3:

yeh that's what we pondered too.. makes them a bigger target for terrorists, and a bigger catastrophe when one goes down, whether by accident or attack.

I watched it too, Didn't really like the fact they used Mythbusters in all that, probably would have been better doing their own experiment. I guess it gives us a chance to see more mythbusters even though they are repeats.
The Airbus is an amazing aircraft, by the sounds of it the whole world had a go at designing it. Amazing what we can produce if we work together. Now imagine what space travel would be like if we did this 100yrs ago.
Didn't think much of the shark thing, sure it could save lives but there are similar devices on the market which do a similar job at a fraction of the cost. Although on a different view $600 isn't alot for saving your life.
The self chilling beer can, now thats a story, about time some one came up with an idea like that. Imaging rotate your telescope 180 degrees and instantly cool your scopes optics.
Didn't like the robotic thing a bit too far fetched, need to fix up the roads better for them, looks like they lack the suspension needed for bumpy roads.
Oh the printer, damn that thing is slow, nothing like the movies LOL That was one way cool invention, hats off to the inventor.
Enough from me see you next week.

The mythbusters segment adds a bit of quirky entertainment to the show. Both shows are made by Beyond Productions.
Makes a good change from the usual cloned programs.

Yeah Andrew i had a bit of skeptical view of the shark deterent, hopefully it is effective but the way the story ran a person would believe its the solution . It looked like the sharks shown needed to get pretty close before the electric barrier took effect, for species like great whites who are ambush predators and display random and variations in there attack patterns the barrier might be ineffective in a full on charge.Must admit though as a surfer it would give some degree of peace of mind .
