Well no clouds last night and no work next day great!!!!
anyway here was the nights first target m8
exposures were 120 sec x 12 lum and 60 sec x 8 each of RGB.
It was great to be out even more so as tonight has turned out crap again.
You might find some green smudges in the pic which i think is a bit of dust or **** on the filters.

Great capture.

Your colour balance is aesthetically pleasing. You’re not giving the STL11k a run for its money – 120 sec subs is freak'n peanuts for an ABG chip. Use the bleeding to your advantage mate. Don’t be scared to take 600 or 900sec subs, even longer if you can. You’ll triple/quadruple your signal to noise ratio and capture much fainter nebulosity in doing so. As chips are linear, by taking multiple 120 sec exposures all you are doing is capturing the same amount of light over and over – the image isn’t actually getting any deeper. All you are doing is improving your signal to noise, but only on the 120 seconds of light you’re collecting. The only way you’ll go deeper and get smoother data is with longer sub exposures.

Nice Rob, Id agree with Jase, longer exposures would be appropriate, the Titan is certainly capable. And IMO lose the white border ;-).

Thank you all for your comments,im not one for being technically minded but i am slowly getting my tongue around things and i do say slowly..i never was a quick learner.But as long as we try thats the main thing!!
Yes jase i agree ..you have convinced me as some fellow countrymen on the sbig group said...nice images BUT DO LONGER EXSPOSURES!!!
And i know you are all right.... so next clear night and work permitting i will do some heaps longer images on m8...thanks all for your opions and help

Very nice work Rob!

You have achieved a very pleasing image with nice colour balance and overall processing and there is good colour in the stars too.

Of course longer subs would be great if you feel like it but while you are cutting your teeth 2min will do the job on many bright nebulae and reduce the risk of a breeze blowing the stars around during exposures or something going wrong with the autoguiding etc and if that happens you haven't lost too much of what I know can be very precious imaging time :thumbsup:

I notice some mild edge of field distortion, you said you have a field flattener was it in place for this image?
