Jupiter in 6.5-7/10 seeing.
With new cooling system in use, scope C14 flocked (see my thread on C14 cooling system installation)
Mirror at 0.2 above ambient.
650 frames in each channel.
30 seconds per channel.
Image taken 1032 UT
12556mm FL
Jet Stream 70m/s
Pretty happy with the detail, just want better seeing still. It was well worth doing the mod, the flocking made so much difference to the contrast that I can recommend that everyone get this done for imaging in SCT's.
Even when the mirror was below ambient I noted that the Primary stayed clear of dewing. The corrector of course was covered in dew at times and I simply used a hair dryer to remove it.
Now to fully automate the tracking with a guide scope and a few other mods. Thank you Anthony (Bird) for doing all the R&D that made this possible. He is a true genius and in years to come I am sure his design will be pivotal to this new step in telescope design.
