I switched to the 50mm f1.8 lens for this shot. Stopped lens down to f4.5
3x5 mins ISO 200. uv/ir filter. modded 350D camera.

Thanks. This is why I love astrophotography, it brings out detail that cant be seen with the eye, as well as colour, then to show everyone :)

that is a lovely image. Nice and sharp, and has a mysterious haunting glow. It's like standing out on a lonely deserted road staring up in the vast sky. Well done!

I used a standard Canon 50mmf1.8 lens. Its not good at F1.8 but stopped down performs well.

Same with nearly all lenses besides the 2.8 tele primes :thumbsup:
