Has been very cloudy/rainy here lately, but I got some small breaks between clouds tonight, and managed to get an image of Venus - huge, 54 arcseconds diameter! I was set up for ages waiting for a glimpse, but by the time I got it, it was pretty low & shimmery. Earlier in bluer skies would have been great. Blue channel was all over the place - just did best I could with RGB align in Registax (not that colour's a real issue here!!).

Very happy to get what I got, even if it's a bit fuzzy!:D

Cheers -

Wow it's really growing! Great stuff Rob, I look at it shining brightly each evening but can't point my scope at it.

That's great Rob! You are doing a great job of capturing it (I suspect there have been several "no-shows" with all the cloud around!) I set up tonight, but cloud didn't clear until Venus was low and amongst the branches of a tree- didn't matter, I pointed my scope at it and marvelled at the large crescent. Then I lost it in the foliage and the clouds made a return. Happy!

Great image Rob, the composite of the crescent phase is a beauty.
