Perhaps I have been unkind to Newcastle of late with my dinner chef rantings about the conditions buuuut have a look at this comparison

Helix in Halpha from Newcastle with full moon average to poor seeing and high cloud 100min AP152EDF @ 1.6"/pix

Helix in Ha from Canberra, no moon, clear & steady sky 120min AP152EDF @ 1.15"/pix

Same focal length but slightly different image scale due to the SXV-H9 camera having smaller pixels, the SXV-H9 is more sensitive to red light too but big difference huh? :scared: The only thing in common is the excellent tracking provided by the NJP mount. The huge FOV of the PL11002 is welcomed though.

Yeh I know Canberra has the moon too but the Halpha filter mostly removes that from the equation.

Welcome back to Newcastle Mike :mad2:

Very different indeed... ;)

I'm lucky, i live in a small, outback town with no light pollution or smoke or anything! ;)
