Because we haven't imaged for some time we decided to look back on some earlier images of M42 taken in April.
The images were taken on four different nights
We stacked 10 lights in DSS and processed in PS CS2
Pentax ist DL unguided
Thanks to Jase for many valuable hints on other threads which have helped us with our processing.
We think we might be improving a little......any further help is always welcome
Shame about our focus back then though :mad2: :mad2:

All in all a nice result that!
I think your colour balance is good and stars are good well done!
Any image is a good image when you have taken it yourself
The Orion Nebula huh..? Magic!

Don't thank me Barb and David. You're the guys that are putting it all together. No amount of reading can be exchanged for hands on experience. You've come along way.
Besides, learning from me is like your parents teaching you to drive - you inherit their mistakes and bad habits.;)
Great Image

Wow! That came up very good Barb & David!
You have shown the wings and the Trap at the same time. Not an easy task. It's like you used EasyHDR to process it. Great work. :)

Thanks for the encouraging remarks guys we appreciate your comments
A very nice image Barb & David, lovely colours and detail.
M42 always reminds me of Summer observing in a Tshirt and not being rugged up like the Michellin man :cold:
