Hello Everyone,
I just have to say a word of thanks to Mike (Iceman) for the well presented talk we were privileged to listen to at the NAS monthly meeting on Friday night.

Hello all.
Yes many thanks, Mike, it was great to have you there, showing us all this great website for all people interested in Astronomy, from beginners to experts and all in between :)
Many thanks for coming to our meeting, and for creating this great place.

Thanks for coming along...unfortunately, I had to see the Security Guard about 1/10th the way through the meeting (there was some rather....energetic... persons fooling about in the car-park, as those who stayed a little afterwards noted).

Thank you for attending.

iceman made a real delightful splash at our meeting. He (and a few others) may have felt sad at Uncle George's speed of delivery, but I for one congratulate George for a difficult job that few people could take on: to show some math topics with sketches and drawings. Our society is richer for the diversity. Thanks all of you!!

Most definitely! George has a passion for telescopes and astronomy, and that's what is most important!

George is a one off all right - he's got the most SUBTLE sense of humour, which gets me in stitches, and BOY can he make mirrors!

He can fully figure an 8 inch mirror from blank to finished in 8 hours. (He would say that it still needed minor adjustments) . He's made several 18 inch mirrors and has a 32 inch telescope, and is making a 42 inch mirror...out of aluminium.

Yes! and he is coming over tonight to figure my secondary mirror. He sure knows alot about mirror making.

That George Does!

Say Hi to him please, for me.

LOL, I'm told that Planet Number Seven From The Sun was once named George.

Makes it kinda...less...sorta...y'know...bur lesque
