A quick go at Tuc47 glob in the mist..

High all again!.:hi:
Getting a bit desperate these days to have some fun with the newt!!
Have had very little good/average seeing here the last few months..
The last few nights the seeing has been rather good...but a few hours after sunset a fog has rolled in.. :mad2:
Well I woke up early this morning and I could see quiet a few stars through the fog...so I decided to have a go!!!
Only managed a few shots before dawn started and lost some frames due to some flexure in something...
but at least I had some fun!!!:)
Just 3x4min and 6x1min combined with DF removed and played with in PS..
Just a average pic but I didn`t have any of this great glob as yet!!

Very nice Gary, you have captured some nice colours in that image and the stars are very sharp right into the core.

Hi Gary - very impressive for an "average pic" :P I know that I would like to be able to take and process images like this...

I like the colours and pin-point stars of this image. Well done!

Can you give me any tips on what steps you take in PS when processing an image like this????:help:

Good image Gary, especially considering the small subs. Tuc47 has a much denser/brighter core the Omega Centauri so it helps to not go too deep on this cluster. You can still do it, but your processing work will increase as you manage the core intensity.

Thanks Browndog, its hard to give advice as each picture gets treated a bit different..and I am only a bit of a hack in PS..
But I would recommend Noels astronomy actions for Photoshop. I don`t use them all the time but come in so handy!!! and only $20 something dollars..
Just google and you should find it!!

I did notice quiet a few orange/red stars in there Erick...:thumbsup:
Thanks Ric and Jase for the comments..I am glad I did some 1 min subs as the 4 min ones the core was totally burned out. Another to have a go at in better weather and like you say Jase to keep the subs shorter and perhaps lots of them..
