hi lunatics

here is one of my favourite craters on moons`surface.
it is Daguerr.

named after Mr. Daguerr living in the mid 19th cent. and being the one who started with preliminary runs in photography - Daguerrotypia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Daguerre

so - in some way - we are succeeders of him...;)

well - here is the data on the image:

Date: 23.4.2007 - seeing 4-5/10; transp. 7/10
Scope: 9" TMB Apo f/ 22,5 (2,5 TV PM)
CCD: DMK 21f04 @30 fps
Software: Registax 4
Processing: postprocess. PS CS2

Hi Dietmar

An excellent image – I really like the mouse over technique. It allows the reader to see the uncluttered image, and then explore the names and places identified.

Cheers

That Theophilius and Cyrillius is a great shot. It feels like I'm just sitting above the site orbiting :cool2:

Excellent lunar work, Deitz. I too love the second shot - it looks like the seeing was better than in your first.

Another very detailed and beautiful lunar image. My eye was drawn to the dark material around the small but prominent crater in Mare Nectaris at top left. Also visible in the smaller, less defined craters in the same region.

Cheers
