Ring Nebula

Hi All
I took this image of the Ring the other night - I've never actually seen it before now as its too low on the horizon generally.

Imaged on Orion ED80 @ f7.5. DSI Pro II autoguided for 10x40sec. Lum only.

I have to use the Envisage drizzle function (which does seem to work) to prevent rotation as I can only image in Alt Az at present.

I'm still tinkering with post processing and having lots of trouble removing gradients. If anyone has any clues I'd be grateful as the technique I'm using in PS (guassian blur subtraction) leaves me with faint concentric rings!

I had a look at this myself last night but was viewing through tree branches that severely degrade the viewing.

Very nice Dan, this is one I have yet to capture. It still lives behind the neighbours garage at the moment.

I use the Drizzle function a lot as well as I am in Alt/Az as well, it is a very handy tool thats for sure.

Nice shot. Being so low means that if you image it as it transits there shouldn't be too much rotation anyway?
