Hi Guys.

Last night at about midnight was bitter, an sitting on minus 2 degrees, however i decided to take the Canon 300mm F/2.8 for another run.

The lens held it's own with no dewing or fogging as was the case the night before, my fingers nearly stuck to it, it was that cold.

Anyway before it all turn to crap at 1am, i managed two wide field images, one of M20 and M8 together, and one of m17, but in that image i captured something else, and am not sure what it is.

Both images consist of 10 exp's each @ 40 sec's, @ 800 ISO, unguided, using 300mm F/2.8 lens on G11 Mount, processed in Image Plus, and the images have not been cropped.

Hope you like them.

Leon

LOL Leon I was expecting a bad image, a -2 effort on a scale of 1 to 10.

They're terrific mate.

Leon, the 'other' thing in your M17 image is the Eagle Nebula M16

Your images are incredible for no Guiding :)

Marvellous wide field vistas there Leon. :) Looking forward to seeing more. If you want a little more of a challenge - trying sequencing the frames so you can stitch them together to make one super wide field view.
