Hi
Last set from 17th July 2007 – I promise! In this set, Sabik is recorded as a clean split at 0.63 arcsec, which is the Dawes limit for a 180mm ‘scope.
I can’t wait until the return of the better observing conditions of summertime in Brisbane. The Mewlon 180 is proving to be a great performer and so far, appears to be holding collimation very well.
Cheers

An impressive piece of work Dennis, especially considering the jet stream of late. You've got the Tak Mewlon working like a charm. Well done! :)

Thanks Jase. I really like the refractor-like images of the Mewlon. I guess I was born a refractor guy!

Nicely done Dennis. :clap:
I'd like to know two things though;
1. where did you get 4/10 seeing in the past three months? :eyepop:
2. we get better observing conditions in summer????? :lol: I gather you mean when we can see the sky. ;)
Oh and 3. Are you bringing the Mewlon out to AF? :)
Wow they're gorgeous Dennis !
Lovely work, well done and nicely presented as always.

Thanks Paul & Andrew; it has been a very nice and enjoyable experience to be outdoors capturing these jewels of the night, although it has been somewhat chilly in this unseasonable cold snap that has hit Brissie.
Paul – we’ve had some clear, albeit windy and cool nights down here in Brissie, so I’ve managed to get out several times recently. The M180 will be coming to Duckadang although I might mount it on the venerable GPDX as I can control that mount with Digital Sky Voice (voice operated astronomy application) whereas the Tak EM200 doesn’t have drivers for that.
Cheers
