Made this from some threshold plate and some 20 x 20 alum square bar. The weight will attach to the adjustable slider block to achieve balance point. Screwed into existing holes in the OTA.

Looks good Baz.
Are you going to paint it black or will the paint scratch off when you slide it?

I think I will paint it mate.
I have finished the weight component and it all works now. The scope balances perfectly with the ED80 on top now.
The weight is a sealed section of RHS filled with lead shot so I can add or subtract weight if needed. Once sanded smooth and painted it should also LOOK attractive too.
