Margaret Throsby interviewed Dr Will Saunders, astronomer from Siding Springs, on her morning ABC-FM program on Thursday, May 19. Here is the URL:

He talks about cosmology, the extent of the universe, Stephen Hawkings, adaptive optics, 'seeing' in Australia compared to Hawaii and Chile, setting up an observatory in Antarctica, Hubble... and everything! Quite unknown to me is the fact that he was also one of the two men arrested and charged for painting the notorious NO WAR sign on the Opera House!

A truly wonderful interview! Do yourselves a favour!

Yep, I heard that interview when it was originally broadcast. It was interesting to hear about the potential of an observatory on the Antarctic Plateau.

Chris

Good to hear their advancing with Dome C in the antarctic.
The large chinese lens will be interesting.

We'll have to keep BD away from the Opera house or we wont hear from him for 7 years.
