Oh Wow Humayan. :eyepop:
Care to run a few Photoshop classes?????:prey:
WOW, that is one special image I'll bet your proud of that one.
I love that starburst in the top right, it looks like a star gone supernova and the dark dust areas look like they have been airbrushed in.
Very spectacular
This is a magnificent image you've composed Humayun. The subtle hues and saturation work extremely well. RGB histogram channels are clean and balanced. With exception to the huge flare from the object top right, this would have to be the one of the best DSLR images I've seen of the region. Well done.

Andrew,
I'm quite pleased with it, despite Jupiter being in frame.
Cheers!
Ken,
You're right, mate; it's got lots of stuff happening! Globs, dark, reflection, emission nebulae, and a planet to boot!
Thank you, sir, for the kind words. :)
Paul,
LOL! I did take quite a lot of time in Photoshop getting things just the way I wanted them to be. No doubt, it pales into comparison with the work others have put out using CCD's, such as Loke Tan, but, I'm a novice! :)
Thanks!
Ric,
I am quite proud of it. It's such a pity that Jupiter is in the frame. Still, it's not as annoying as I thought it may end up being.
Thanks, mate!
Jase,
Thank you for the critique, as per the norm. :)
I paid a lot of attention to the histogram. Some clipping was unavoidable, but, I did my best with the data I did capture. Once again, pin-point stars. It's a testament to how wonderful the EM-200 is.
And, wow, thank you for that humbling compliment!
David,
Thanks, mate!
As for the Malin's, we'll see! There's lots of brilliant imagers on here. I've got to try harder!

Humayun

Gee thats right up there with the best. The dark nebulosity really stands out amongst the bright. Jupiter just adds to the greatness of the image :)

Humayun, very nice, slightly orange, but colour balance is difficult on this one, excellent work.

Stunning image Humayan, as we come to expect from you.
The diffraction spikes from the lens diaphragm look spectacular.
I can assure you, your images would stand up very very well in the widefield categories at the DM awards! You should definitely should enter. Your work is stunning.

Wow Humayun
That was worth the 10 min' download ( oh the joys of dial up )
you really should consider puting some of your shots in the Malin comp' thier certanly up to it.
Should have the GM200 mount sorted befor your next visit and give some narrow field stuff a try.
Great stuff

Well Big H what a cracker!
Nice work on a showcase region
Have you tried dropping the green just a tad and upping the blue..? Not a critisism at all just a suggestion.
That Nikon lens looks to be a keeper too!

Scott,
After having spent a long time looking at the image, I think I did the right thing by keeping Jupiter in there. It's not there all the time, as it makes its way along the ecliptic. I will try again for this region next year, though, and put more time and effort into it.
Thanks for the compliment, mate.
Bassnut,
I noticed it is a tad orange, as well. We can never be happy with processing! :)
Cheers, mate.
Mike,
Thank you. :)
I may enter next year. :)
Narayan,
Thank you, sir!
mill,
Cheers. :)
Al,
Thank you! :)
Gary,
The tight stars, once again, are a testament to the quality of the lens and of the mount. They're an awesome combination.
Thank you, sir. :)
David,
Hah, you're right, I've never seen Jupiter look so good, either. :P
Thanks!
Zane,
I'm glad you like it!
I'll try the Malin's next year. :)
Sounds excellent. I'll be there soon!
Mike,
Thank you!
I did notice after a while that the image is a bit strong in the orange. I haven't tried downing the green and upping the blue, but, it is certainly something I will try when I get a chance, or if I'm bored enough to reprocess.
The Nikon lens is spectacular. At F/4.0, it's just awesome.
Thanks for the compliment and constructive criticism. :)
Bill,
Cheers!
Matt,
Thank you. :)
Regards,
Humayun
