Corona Australis.

Canon 300D & 135mm f/2L lens. 14 images @ 240 sec, f/2.5 ISO800. Dark subtracted and flat fielded. Calibrated, aligned and stacked (average) in Images Plus, post processing in Photoshop CS2. Not really finished.

It may appear a bit washed out on some screens as my laptop has been adjusted to my ambient lighting using Adobe Gamma (hey it's better than nothing :P )

Looks very good Paul. You are certainly not limited by the lens as it looks to be sharp from corner to corner. It is a very tricky area to get right.

Thanks Guys. I'm going to reprocess it and try a few other processing steps to see if I can get a better contrast between the nebula and the background. Will post it when I'm done.

That is a beatiful image Paul! The dark Nebula detail is very nice.

Interestingly, out of the probably 1 million stars in your image I can find only one 'Type K' star!!! Believe me, I searched the whole image
