Hello,
Well, in spite of marauding ants, a grotty flu and the howling jet steam of late, I’m still plugging away at doubles whenever I can get the opportunity. Here is a collection from 30th June 2007, as viewed from Brisbane.
Takahashi Mewlon 180mm F12 at prime focus (2160mm).
DBK21AF04.AS ccd camera.
Stacks of from 3 to 129 frames from 1600 frame AVI’s.
Cheers

You are a man possessed Dennis. Don't you know that the Jetstream is doing about.....hang on I'll check.......well I just looked outside and saw a 747 going backwards. Aren't you supposed to be doing extra extra widefields in these conditions. :screwy:
Very nice captures by the way
Lovely imaging, great images of those doubles, HR6426 must have been a toughy judging by the separation. The colours look great.

Great effort Dennis, sometimes I think when the stars are big and blobby they look more colourful.

Thanks guys. With the Mewlon 180 being a relatively small aperture (180mm or 7 inches) and having an open tube (no corrector like the C9.25), helps it cool down reasonably quickly. My gut feeling is that it appears to be less affected by the poor seeing than the C9.25 and certainly the better Tak mirror (1/20 wave) contributes to sharper and more defined stars.
Cheers

Hey H0ughy
I put in x3 blue doubles and only x1 orange/red (Maroon?) double as I had a feeling the Blues would stand up tonight…
