Interesting, the "bounce" theory has been around awhile and as I was taught for this to happen would require a net non-zero vacuum energy density. I would love to see the paper when it comes out. If the math turns out to be valid it will be quite exciting.

I like the recognition that the maths does not break down as such but that the maths has not caught up with the moment.
This dirrection of explaining the start of our Universe with the ending of an earlier one has surfaced in other forms and indeed the string approach is to suggest two branes meeting and the result a new Universe.
The word Universe says to me..all that is and all that was... so does that not mean all Universes are by definition part of the one???
Thank you Bojan for your post although I understand little I enjoy reading about it and to wonder at the minds who can work in these areas.
