...another image from June 23. I've been away for a week and was not able to process any more images until I got back yesterday, so I was suffering terrible withdrawal :-)

Bird, that is stunning!

You have certainly got the equipment humming smoothly and the talent to go with it.

Excellent result.

That is awesome amount of detail, I have been staring at it for a good 10mins. I just can get over how much detail you have got there. Is this with the Dragonfly express? Can not wait to get mine, its enroute. Can you give me any tips on which Firewire pcmcia card to get?

Regards
Fahim

OMG!....congratulations....are you for real Anthony...when you said 10/10 seeing conditions that night you really meant it. I cant get over the level of detail you have captured there...that is a jaw dropping image that is likely to gloss astro magazines in the months to come.
I am so over my webcam...I'll just go home and cry now!.........
p.s. when is that mini astro camp at your place again??!!....how does next weekend sound? (just kidding - I'll have to get myself a high quality b/w first)

Fahim, yes this is with the DX, it's a very good camera :-) :-)

I'm currently using the firewire port on my laptop, but that's not a very good system and it's taken a lot of trial and error to get it working properly.

I've got a LaCie firewire800 PC card for the laptop, and it seems to work very well.

ps I use Linux for image capture, so I don't really know how this stuff goes under WinXP etc... I use that for registax and playing games :-)

It's been raining, sleeting, and possibly snowing for the last week (I've been away in Glen Innes where it's been, err, snowing, sleeting and raining).

It's strictly BYO seeing at the moment...

Incredible Anthony - I think that's better than the original ones you posted from June 23?

That is simply superb. Congratulations. All the hard work has paid off. I've not seen a better image from Australia, ever.

Hi Anthony

You have produced another exquisite, masterful planetary portrait – well done. There isn’t really much else that I can say, except keep ‘em coming!

Cheers

One more try... stayed up till 2am but in the end had to finish this one off this morning.

Fixed a long-standing problem with ninox where it would not centre properly if you wanted to use the whole frame (ie -cut=640,480). Now it does :-)

This will be in version 2.45, coming today to my website.

Now that's working, I can use the quality estimator to cull the frames and life is better in registax.

ps I reckon it looks better this way up, don't ask me why - normally I prefer GRS at the bottom?

I can't delete the OP, as I've emailed out links to it, so apologies for posting yet another image.

A great image of Jupiter. Right contrasts and right processing for details.

I think that telling "Amazing" it's just reductive!

Compliments!

Thanks for the comments... I have intended to do more work on this image as there are more things to try in the processing, but I had to take a few days out for work commitments. I'll try and do some more over the weekend..
