Just spent the afternoon in Kirribilli at a book launch. Before and after, however, I managed to escape and take some photos of the city and harbour. Playing with the new E-510 and getting to know it.:)
It was overcast to the west so I thought the light would be good, but since there was essentially blue sky in the background the images did tend to come out a bit drab looking so I've done a bit of work in PS CS3 with shadows and highlights to liven them up a bit. All images are reduced in size for the web. They were captured as RAW+JPEG so these are the SQ jpgs. When I have more time I'll play with the RAWs and see if I can improve...;)

...and some more...:)
These two panos were each assembled from 3 photos with PS CS3. I must say, I think CS3 is greatly improved over CS2 for photomerging (from my experience so far). I have several pieces of software that I have used for panos and mosaics, but since I've had CS3 I haven't faulted it yet. That couldn't be said of CS2.

Nice shots Al. After seeing these and Andrew's (Rocket Boy) HDR Opera House I really must make an effort to stay in town after work and do a bit of photographic wandering.
Who's the hobbit?

LOL! I used top work at Luna Park as a kid - and remember "Code 48" coming over the speakers.... and you'd run to the Rotor with a bucket and mop.
I miss the old Luna Park.

lol nice re-work Mike! :)
Great shots Al, I love #'s 4,6,7,8 the best. I can see what you mean about the lighting - it could've been better but you did well with the conditions.
