Its a Personal Solar Telescope, but you didn't hear that from me!:P
It is a wonderful addition to your scope collection, everyone needs one. I would just like the 90mm version!!:astron:

I'd love a PST, they provide some great H-a views of the sun. And for under $900, not a bad price..
Astronomy during the daytime when there's clouds at night, how cool.

Now that Meade has bought Coronado I suppose we will see some more aggressive marketing for the PST, though I gather it sells really well anyway
At SPSP this year there were plenty of PSTs ..compared to say the previous year when there were lots of white light filters in evidence but only one or two H alpha filters around..I got to look through one ..some nice views of prominences
Yes Mike I'd love one too..maybe I can afford one in time for the next Venus transit :)

I was there at the SPSP and I had both. I think I counted 6 PST's on the field.

Sorry to side track briefly but I wonder if the new equipment the military has that can see through dense cloud could be adapted to a telescope for those clouded-in nights. Just a thought!
Now back to the thread at hand.

Tony, just think if you bought an 11" Ha filter and a PST you could use it as a guide scope for solar imaging:cool2:
